Grindelwald and the surrounding area

Eiger/Mönch/Jungfrau

In the direct vicinity of the hotel, you will find the eponymous Wetterhorn, along with a whole host of unique natural attractions. A short distance to the south-west of the Hotel Wetterhorn is the internationally renowned trio of mountains, the Eiger, Jungfrau and Mönch, which, at approximately 4,000 metres above sea level (Eiger 3,970 m, Jungfrau 4,158 m, Mönch 4,107 m), leave a particularly imposing impression on the Bernese Alpine landscape and are a very special experience for all nature lovers.

Connecting the two peaks of Mönch and Jungfrau is the Jungfraujoch, which is also home to Europe’s highest railway station. From here, you can enjoy fun and adventure or simply the stunning view of this wintry wonderland from one of the restaurants or the Sphinx Observatory.

Nature lovers, hikers and sport aficionados in the area have a variety of activities to choose from:

whether a glacier tour, winter sports on the nearby pistes or relaxing with a cosy hot drink in a unique ambiance, incomparable anywhere in the world.

Lake Bachalpsee/Wetterhorn

A hiking or cycling tour to Lake Bachalpsee is always worthwhile, especially in the warmer seasons.

Upon arrival at the mountain lake, located in a nature reserve at approx. 2,265 m above sea level, you will notice the natural dam dividing Lake Bachalpsee into two parts.

From the bank, you will be greeted by impressive scenery and a magnificent view of the icy peaks of the Bernese Alps – and our very own Wetterhorn.

Best of all:

this view and the unique panorama can also be enjoyed while taking a dip in the lake.

Playground

The top priority for our little guests:

fun and games are guaranteed in the hotel’s spacious children’s playground, featuring swings, climbing forest, hammock and much more.

Plenty of room to play and let off some steam!
